Condom etiquette is based on several factors including who is the individual to remove the condom. Proper condom etiquette is not only about proper maintenance but also about being courteous and respectful of your partner. Knowing how your condom works and being able to install it properly can help avoid embarrassing situations which may interrupt the atmosphere of the sexual activity. Be sure that the penis is hard if you are using a man’s condom. If you are using a woman’s condom, be sure you have used one before in order to best protect yourself during sex.
If the condom was on a man, be sure to properly hold a condom when removing it in order to stop it from spilling out. Once a man is flaccid, it is very easy for semen to leak out of the condom and it could possibly risk getting the woman pregnant. In addition, make sure you remove the penis from inside of the other individual as otherwise it may become stuck and create a situation which may require medical attention. This can become a difficult situation, especially if the individuals are younger in age which may make things more awkward. If the condom is a condom meant for women, she may wish to excuse herself for a few minutes in order to remove the condom and clean herself appropriately before returning to the bed.
In order to dispose of a condom, be courteous and do so away from your partner as it can be messy. Many individuals do not wish to see what they felt was a very emotional and sensual experience to end with a condom which snaps lose and accidentally goes flying into their face. While in some instances it may be cause for laughter which brings extra closeness, in other instances (i.e. it hits your partner) you may feel very embarrassed and the other individual may be insulted.
Once this is done, be sure to wash both you and your genital regions well before returning to your partner. This will help prevent any of the lubrication from getting on both you and your partner which could ruin your time together afterwards. If for some reason you are in a location where this may be impossible, a wet wipe is always handy to be kept with a condom. Be sure you do not keep them both side by side, as if one leaks onto the other it may damage the condom.
Remember that respect and courtesy are very important factors in sexual activity. How you prepare and dispose of your condoms will make a difference with your partners. Doing the right things and taking care of condoms will help to show that not only are you respectful of your partner, but that you go the extra mile in making your time together as sensual and enjoyable as possible. In addition, you will be able to protect both you and your partner more efficiently by following etiquette.
