Combo Bars

If you are looking into weight lifting bars, you have to think about the intended purpose of the bar when you choose what to use. There are many types of bars. Combo bars are often mistaken for easy curl bars, because of their curved shape. To envision the shape, think of a bar that has a snake-like bend at the center but is otherwise straight.

Although the combo bar could be considered to be a curl bar under a different name—probably renamed for patent reasons, so as not to be blocked due to the existence of other curling bars—they offer a more comfortable alternative for many types of weight lifting exercises. These include curls, dead lifts, squats, bench and shoulder presses. There is no stress placed on your lower back with one of these bars. Combo bars also offer more than one grip option so you can isolate muscles better and train vary the training when you want to.

A combo bar is good for bicep and triceps exercises on a preacher curl bench. The preacher curl bench is sort of like a backwards music stand—it has a sloped surface that you rest the backs of your arms on when you perform the exercise. The pad prevents you from swinging your arms, thus isolating the bicep by removing other muscles from the equation.

Combo bars are great for performing these bicep exercises and isolating the bicep muscles. A straight bar can put undue strain on your wrists by forcing them into an unnatural position under a substantial load of weight, whereas combo bars allow you to hold your wrists in a more natural position while still working your biceps to their full potential.

Weight lifting bars and collars are vital for weight lifters. They affect both the workout and the safety of the workout. The right bar can help you fine-tune your workout. The wrong collar can result in a dangerous accident. Bars and collars are available in a variety of sizes and shapes. Most bars range from four feet to seven feet in length. The bar will typically weigh somewhere between 20 to 45 pounds.

IT wouldn’t make much sense to make high tech, lightweight bars for eight lifting, would it?
In order to increase your workout, you add weight to the end of the bars. The whole point of weight training is to make you stronger. That is why you need to be able to change the weight on the sides of the bar. In order to be able to change the weights, you need something to keep the weights on the bar. That’s where collars enter into it. They keep the weights from falling off by locking onto each side after the weights are inserted. Collars are available in different sizes and shapes, too. Bigger collars are more secure, but smaller ones can be more convenient. When you perform weight lifting exercises, you will get more out of your routine if you have the use the right collar and bar for the exercise you are doing.
