Acer computer monitors are just one of the computer products produced by the Taiwanese company Acer. Acer was founded in 1976 as Multitech, but became Acer in 1987. It’s the third largest seller of computer related products in the world, at in the end of 2008, the second in worldwide notebook computer sales.

Acer is now one of the top 5 PC brands, who branched out into developing user-friendly technology solutions in 2000. Part of Acer’s mission statement involves making technology accessible for everyone to benefit from by making even their most sophisticated products easy to use. They sell computer monitors, but they also market a variety of computers and computer-related products, other digital devices, and LCD televisions.

Acer offers a variety of LCD computers in the marketplace today, including those designed for home use and various business solutions. The lines are Premium Home, Excel, Business, Value and the Ferrari series of computer monitors. Acer’s main business comes from the sale of desktop and laptop computers however, and often their monitors are bundled with their computers.

Acer’s top of the line computer monitors are the Ferrari monitors. These wide-screen TFT LCD monitors feature Acer’s CrystalBrite Technology for the clearest, brightest images, contrast ratios of 20000:1, adjustable viewing angles, a lightning fast 2ms response time, and a resolution of up to 1680 x 1050. The Ferrari computer monitor comes in 20” or 22” wide-screens.

They design computer monitors that are very basic for use in a light-computing home, and those that are designed specifically for gamers, with high-end features that are designed for the special imaging needs of today’s sophisticated video games. Business monitors and all others are designed to be environmentally friendly and ergonomically sound.

Acer technology makes the monitors on their notebook computers some of the best, ranging from the basic to the high-end. Where Acer has recently succeeded in the marketplace is with the new Netbooks designation, the trend toward very small and lightweight notebook PCs designed for the utmost in mobility. The first to put one of these compact notebooks into the marketplace was Asus, but other companies quickly began selling their own offerings like HP and Sony. The Acer Aspire One is Acer’s first offering into this marketplace, and one that quickly became one of the top selling compact notebooks, or “netbook” by the end of 2008.

The Aspire One weighs only 2.2 pounds and has a form factor of only 8.9”. It’s designed for anyone who wants to be able to get online while on the go. A built-in web cam, wireless connectivity made easier than ever before, and a choice between operating systems like Linux or Windows XP makes the Acer Aspire One one of the top sellers in this sub-notebook category.
The built-in computer monitor has a resolution of 1024 x 600, and is a TFT LCD measuring 8.9 inches. The small screen still benefits from Acer’s CrystalBrite Technology, has an LED backlight, and can display up to 252,000 different colors.
