44 Year Old Stripper Charges Age Discrimination

Kimberlee Ouwroulis, age 44, is an exotic dancer based in Toronto, Canada. She has recently filed a complaint with the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, charging her former employer with age discrimination in connection with her termination earlier this summer. While the news was first reported by the Nation Post of Canada, Fox News picked up on the story and submitted it to its panel of legal experts.

Ouwroulis maintains that her boss pulled her into the office on June 6th and told her that her time was up. Reportedly when asked if it was because of her age, the manager told her of another older dancer who was terminated earlier that day. According to the National Post, the Fox News legal panel was reluctant to believe that Ouwroulis is actually 44 years old, and also had their doubts that what occurred to her was actually discrimination.

Ouwroulis started her career in dancing while waitressing at a different strip club, after a nasty divorce. Encouraged by the managers and customers, she embarked into exoitic dancing at the unusual age of 41. When asked how long she expected to be dancing, she indicated she hoped to be dancing until she is 47 or 48. While looks play an important role in exotic dancing, she asserts that personality and attitude play an important role as well.

Since her termination by the New Locomotion club, she has been hired at another strip club where she is performing stage shows and dancing for customers. She says the news of her age discrimination complaint has not resulted in a lot of publicity for the club, but a few customers do recognize her from the paper or TV reports.
