Election Results 2008

By Sean Percival on November 5th, 2008

The day we’ve all been waiting for is here.  Anticipated for months, the presidential election of 2008 is now underway!  If early voting turnout is any indication, this election may well break voter turnout records on many different levels.  History will be made regardless of the voter turnout, however, as America has for it’s first time an African-American candidate and a female vice-presidential candidate.  So no matter who wins, this will be one for the history books.  In keeping up with the election results for 2008, we wanted to present you with the best tools possible, without any partisanship.  Google seems to have some great tools, so we’ve embedded a couple of interesting and interactive election results tools from them below.  So, the only question that remains (I’m writing this before the polls have closed) … did you vote?  If not, you should.  There are many men and women in other countries around the world that would love to have the opportunity to elect their leadership, but they don’t have open elections.  Be proud of America, despite all of her short comings.  We are still a great place to live, and a home for democracy.  Don’t let it go to waste!

Electoral Votes Map It takes a minimum of 270 electoral votes for a candidate to win the presidential election. You can use this map to predict various state combinations to make your own predictions about the outcome of the election.
