Have you ever had a secret project that you didn’t want people to know about?  Perhaps something you concocted down in the basement of your home that you knew would never see the light of day?  Well, Ken Imhoff had a project in his basement, but he realized before hand what he was doing and eventually laid plans so it could see the light of day.  Before we take a look at these pictures, be forewarned, this is no ordinary basement project, and definitely not the average do-it-yourself connect the dots deal!  What Ken has done is nothing less than a dream for most men: to build a complete car from the ground up.  Hey, but that’s just half the story!  The car’s a home-made knock-off of a Lamborghini Countach.  Granted, it took 10 years (yes, you read that right) and the partial destruction of Ken’s basement to accomplish this task, but it looks like it was worth it to me.  Take a look at this photo gallery (click on pictures for larger images) showing the development of the vehicle and I’ll follow up after the pictures with a few specs on the vehicle itself.

So what about this beauty?  What’s she made of?  Well, first off, Ken custom built his own tig-welded frame.  In addition he utilized a modified 351 cubic inch V8 along with a ZF-25 5-speed transmission to build the drive train.  The body itself is made from hand-formed aluminum covered in a nice metallic gray.  Looks pretty original, doesn’t it?  Gotta hand it to ya Ken, this is one muscle car project that will make the best of us drool!  Of course, if you’re interested in more pics of the car, or in contacting Ken for advise or perhaps to have him build a project for you, then check out his website, KI Engineering.

Excellent looking vehicle. You need to add a feature where one can scroll through the pictures without having to hit back on the browser every time you look at one. Still waiting for an article on the Fisker!!!
