The electronics industry is constantly striving to bring us bigger and better products, and that fact has never been more obvious than when viewing the new Panasonic Big Screen TV at the Consumer Electronics Show.
Panasonic has developed the largest plasma TV set in history! The set boast a 150 inch screen, roughly 12.5 feet, and stands a full 11 feet tall. Rest assured, you need some serious space in your TV room to host this big beauty (if you have 8 foot ceilings, you’re simply out of luck). Panasonic required the use of a Boeing 747 to transport the big screen set and doesn’t expect to have the units available for purchase until after the first of the year. (Too bad for folks who had high hopes for Christmas). The Panasonic big screen has not yet been priced.
But for Panasonic, the buck doesn’t stop with this particular big screen. The premier electronic company also introduced a plasma screen that is only one inch thick! They also constructed a demonstration of something they’re calling the Panasonic Life Wall. The demonstration indicates that users would install Panasonic display screens that cover an entire wall of their home. This technology would come with face recognition and virtual environment technologies. Basically, this impressive application would turn your wall into an interactive unit that would allow you to watch video, chat online, or simply browse the internet in general.
Panasonic also announced its current dealings with YouTube that will implement the placement of YouTube menus on upcoming Panasonic television sets. The YouTube interface is similar in appearance to that of Apple TV. Panasonic also announced that it will release a 32 GB SD card and is currently working to develop a card that doubles that capacity.
In addition to the above, Panasonic announced the completion an exciting study wherein they simply ‘gave’ some of their premier products to a real-life family and studied their usage for a few months. The effort was to examine the impact that using the best high-tech products would have on the modern family.
As a result, Panasonic has introduced intentions in ‘going green’! They have halted the use of lead in any of their products and have a plan set forth to reduce carbon emissions by 300K over the next few years!
Toshiro Sakamoto, the President of Panasonic Networks, is very pleased with the progression the company has made with its technological advancement. He indicated that Panasonic ideas that were mere figments of the imagination a few short years ago are now lining the shelves at every major retail store. Sakamoto also expresses his approval of Panasonics HD product development.
