Hannspree has made an entrance into the television manufacturing world for their innovative designs and artistry. Creativity along with well built machines is becoming synonymous with Hannspree. Although they may be newer among some of the names that have high customer recognition, you would do best to at least check out these wonderful products!
An LCD manufacturer, based in Taiwan, Hannspree has developed television into an art form. Soccer ball TVs, Artistic sculpture TVs, and more seem to be the push behind Hannspree. It is yet unknown how much of a market there is for these products, but their creativity has to be admired. It is indeed a first in television history.
Hannspree is actually owned by a well known and respected LCD manufacturer. Some of the best LCD’s to be found, in fact, are made by the company that created Hannspree.
The specs on the Hannspree 15” models are as follows:

• 500:1 Contrast ratio
• No Component Video Inputs
• 1 S-Video Input
• 2 Composite Inputs
• 2 Audio (RCA) inputs
• SRS Surround Sound
So, you are not going to get much viewing space, they are not HDTV and they do not have input components. It would seem that Hannspree is headed in a unique and possibly lucrative direction, but they need to work on quality as well as creativity. Since all of Hannspree’s displays are LCD there is no interlacing. Hannspree’s larger models (23″ range) have component inputs for true HDTV at 1280×768. Many of the designs, especially those with Disney branding and other assorted fictional characters, target niche markets like a child’s bedroom or playroom.
The unique thing about Hannspree is you will not only find them on retail store shelves. Because of their unique designs, even boutiques are carrying the artistic televisions! Hannspree will no doubt find their public with such a unique niche. Perhaps I should I say their public will find them.
It looks as though Hanspree has made a grand entrance, now all we can hope for is proof of practicality along with the unique designs they offer. Not yet a household word, they are becoming more popular because of the designs. Many Parents find these sets perfect for their children, or a unique gift for the college student. I see an interesting future for Hannspree. They have laid the groundwork for some impressive marketing niches. They also could rise to the top concerning customer service and quality of their product. Only time will tell if this will be the case.
