The Next Generation of Phones

VOIP phones have been the newest, biggest trend in terms of internet calling. This has sparked the attention of major phone companies that have monopolized the industry for many years. It’s no surprise that AT&T VOIP services are now available to consumers. This is mainly due to the fact that VOIP companies are offering services for much cheaper rates than conventional phone companies. This is especially true when it comes to long distance calling. Long distance calling plans can be purchased for a fraction of the price of conventional plans purchased through traditional phone companies. This is great news for the average consumer that makes a lot of long distance calls. However these services are still fairly new to the average person and the industry is continuing to be faced with heavy competition.

For those of you that are unaware of how these phones operate, allow me to explain. The easiest way of explaining Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) is to think of voice services that are offered through the popular messaging services. The only difference is instead of connecting to another user on the messaging service, you can connect to a traditional phone line through your IP address that’s provided from your ISP. This allows companies to offer such low rates because its not any more expensive for them to connect you to someone in another country than it is to locally.

AT&T VOIP Services

The good news that comes out of all of this is the fact that consumers are bound to be paying much less for their long distance calling and even cut down on their bills in terms of local calling. The reason that all of this is possible is because the expensive infrastructure that traditional companies had to have in place and maintain is not needed to make a VOIP call. A lot of big companies have been stepping up to the plate out of realization that VOIP phones were the direction that the public are leaning towards. This has made huge phone companies offer VOIP services. In fact, there are now AT&T VOIP services that are being offered to the public.

AT&T VOIP services that are offered reflect the consumers and businesses that having been using these types of services most. For now AT&T offers three basic plans that vary in price. They seem to be focusing on small business plans and enterprise plans; however they do also provide a residential plan. All of the basic features that are provided through a traditional phone and phone line can be purchased through a VOIP plan. This is pretty much an easy decision for most people. Cheaper rates, better features, and great quality have got people in craze about these innovative new phones that are revolutionizing the industry
