Xbox 360; Buy Now, or Wait it Out
With the expectations of the new Motherboards being incorporated by Xbox 360, many are anticipating lower costs and more power. This is causing a good many gamers to consider holding out until all of the 3 new Motherboards are released. The Jasper, Opus and Valhalla are expected out soon. There has apparently been a delay for the new systems to appear on your local shelves. The Jasper was set to be shipped on September 08.
The Opus and Valhalla will incorporate one chip, instead of two, which should also bring down the price. The other benefits of the Jasper, Opus and Valhalla Xbox 360 are a new cooling system.
Buying your Xbox 360 now is not necessarily a bad move. Once the systems with the new Motherboards and cooling systems hit the shelves, there may be the ever present shortage of the Xbox 360, as seen in previous releases. Microsoft is not going out on a limb to guarantee anything with the new features. It is anticipated that the price may be lower, but there is no official word yet.
Waiting may bring you the dual problem of crossing a possible shortage of the new revelation right at Holiday buying time. With the delay of the Jasper, there will probably be delays in the Opus and Valhalla as well. This means, if you wait, and you want your Xbox 360 by the Holidays, you may be out of luck. It is possible that they will anticipate holiday buying when they estimate how many to ship out. If you are in a region where electronics are normally late arriving on the shelves, don’t count on them being there by Christmas.
By Contrast, if you are in no hurry for your updated Xbox 360, why not wait? There were no major reported glitches in the Xbox 360 as it was. If the Xbox 360 is intended as a personal purchase for your own use, and you are willing to stave off the initial presentation, and the holiday crowds, you may be pleasantly surprised.
The Holiday Season may very well be the determining factor in whether you buy your Xbox 360 now, or wait. It is something you will have to decide quickly, however, or it may be decided for you! Act now, or sit back and wait out the rush, right now, the decision is yours.
