The computer mouse is easily one of the most well known things about a computer. Mice have been attached to computers since we’ve known them, as they are the quickest and easiest way to get to everything that you need on your computer. Without the mouse, most people would simply be unable to use their computer at all. Kinds of Mice Available
There are multiple kinds of mice available, and in multiple shapes and sizes. The first major thing to consider, however, is the actual type of mouse itself. There are two major kinds of mice; the ball, and the optical light. The ball is the old kind of mouse that uses a ball to roll around and click to what you want. These balls were removable, but are becoming obsolete thanks to the optical light mouse. This type of mouse features no ball, but simply uses an optical light to understand exactly what you are trying to do with the mouse.
Wireless vs. Wired
With that being said, there are two major types of mice to consider, after you have chosen the type of mouse that you want. If you choose to have a mouse with a ball, you will be stuck with a wired mouse. This means that you must connect the actual mouse to the computer. If you choose to use an optical light mouse, however, you can actually have either a wired or wireless mouse. Some people believe that wired mice work better than wireless mice, but wireless mice give you the full freedom of movement that you may want with your mouse.
Accessories to the Mouse
Different companies and brands will offer different kinds of mice for you to choose from. Some will give you the ability to have multiple buttons on the mouse (besides the usual right and left click). Some will give you a scrolling feature, while others will not. If you think about what you need, you can think about what accessories you may want.
The mouse is often overlooked as a simple necessity of the computer. If you think about it, however, there may be a better mouse out there for you.
